Common Signs Your Dog May Be in Pain

- Decreased activity: Reluctance to play, jump, go for walks, or even climb stairs can be a red flag.
- Limping or stiffness: Trouble getting up or moving around is often linked to joint or muscle pain.
- Changes in appetite: Pain especially in the mouth or abdomen can make dogs eat less or refuse food.
- Panting or shaking: These can be signs of stress, anxiety, or discomfort.
- Whining, yelping, or growling: Vocalizing more than usual can signal they're hurting.
- Licking or biting one area: Dogs often focus on the spot that’s bothering them, sometimes causing sores or hair loss.
- Posture changes: Arched backs, tucked tails, or favoring one side can indicate discomfort.
